Why your not getting all your wedding plans completed
Negative emotions PART 1:
When your planning a wedding, there is so much to do.
The check list is LONG.
Some things are fun, and others (mailing out invites, huh hmm) not so much.
It is easy to get overwhelmed, or anxious with all that needs to be done.
In general, we don’t like to feel negative emotions. We think the goal is to get rid of a bad feeling and just feel good all the time.
Guess what…it’s not possible.
I happen to think that we are going to feel emotions we don’t like about 50 percent of the time.
If that’s the case, why don’t we just embrace the negative. Why fight it. Welcome it. Let it help you grow.
What emotions are holding you back from getting everything done?
Overwhelm, anxiety, frustration, doubt?
Because we dislike them so much, we try are darnedest to get rid of them.
There are three things we do to try and get rid of the negative feelings.
One of the things we do is AVOID them. I call it buffering.
Buffering is the things we do so we don’t feel “bad”
We eat, we watch tv, clean, exercise, sleep, etc.
We are pros at trying to avoiding those negative emotions.
What things would be checked off that TO DO list if you didn’t buffer?
What’s your favorite method of avoiding/buffering negative emotion?
Mine is eating.
